Welcome back to the UEC Dynasty!
This week, the Bighorns will be back in action at Miller Memorial Stadium against the FCS Riveside College Royals.
As always, here’s our Game Notes for this week! It’ll get fuller for Week 3, but below is the notes you can read to follow along!
Game Notes v. Riverside College
Player of the Week
Senior tailback Justin Jaquis (Gadsden, Ala./Northwestern) was named FBS Independents Offensive Player of the Week following a three-touchdown, 132 allpurpose yard game in last week's loss to Colorado.
Searching for Wins
The Bighorns are still seeking their first win in program history and at Miller Memorial Stadium following a narrow 45-38 loss to Colorado last weekend.
Score Like There's No Tomorrow
UEC enters this weekend's affair with the 34th best scoring offense in the nation, averaging 38.0 points per game.
Different Divisions, No Problem
This week's matchup against Riverside College will be UEC's first against an FCS program.
Finding the Endzone
Amidst Jaquis's great first game, the senior tailback scored the first touchdown in UEC history on a 17-yard run up the middle in the second quarter of last week's game. He is also the first Bighorn to score multiple touchdowns in one game (2) and to score a rushing and receiving touchdown in the same game.
I'll Take That
Senior Avery Dunbar (Aurora, Colo./Northern Colorado) picked off Heisman candidate Shedeur Sanders in the fourth quarter last week and returned the interception 89 yards to the house. Dunbar's pick was the first forced turnover in UEC history and the first defensive score in Bighorn history.
