I hope you’re having as much fun reading the Historical Portal series as I am writing it. Seriously, it’s been a blast, even if they’re taking a long time to churn out.
As promised in the initial series announcement, I’m letting you all select the sixth and final story! I’ve collected some in the comments and posts about Historical Portal and added the most popular here to a poll. Fill it out to decide what you want to see!
And, if you have anyone that’s interested in college football history, feel free to share the series with them!

First, a little overview of each of our options:
Alabama misses out in 2017- 2017 was a wild season with no clear-cut number one team and a burgeoning Group of Five program that might be able to hang with the big boys. Alabama eventually took home the prize, but their spot in the playoff was tenuous. What if they didn’t get in? Suggested by
Cam transfers to Mississippi State- Cam Newton put up one of the best seasons in college football history when he willed Auburn to a national championship in 2011. What if he didn’t land in Auburn after transferring from JUCO Blinn College? What if he chose a different SEC school? Suggested by
Tebow commits to Alabama instead of Florida- We all know what happened across Tim Tebow’s electric career in Florida — a Heisman trophy, a national championship and one of the best teams in recent history. But did you know he was also considering Nick Saban’s Alabama coming out of high school? How would that ripple across the sport? Suggested by
Who gets the fourth playoff bid in 2014?- The first playoff race was one for the ages, with Ohio State barely nabbing the final spot following a 59-0 decimation of Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship behind third string Cardale Jones. But there were other teams also vying for that spot. What if they got the spot instead of the Buckeyes? Suggested by
Miami wins the 2002 Natty- If it wasn’t for Maurice Clarett and an interesting call, the Hurricanes may have went home with a second consecutive National Championship. What if they did win that? Would it impact the dynasties to come? Suggested by
