Hitting the airwaves
Check out the podcast I hopped on this week!
As a heads up, the publishing schedule is going to be all weird this week. Tomorrow you’ll get either a coaching update or a post about the playoff format in your inbox. The other will come on Thursday. Friday is an Army-Navy preview like I do each year. And Saturday morning, ahead of the Heisman trophy ceremony, we’ll release this year’s Substack College Football Awards.
I’ve already got some great creators signed on and taking part, but if you write or podcast about college football here on Substack and want to join in, let me know! In the meantime, here’s some content outside of the SID Sports Substack page to fill your day today.
That’s right, SID Sports is hitting the airwaves and I’m joining podcasts! This week, at least, just one
Have a podcast or other media that you want me to participate in? Email me all requests at griffin@sid-sports.com and I’ll give it a look! I also accept story pitches and tips there too.
I was honored to be the second guest on a newer podcast, the Dave Shuman Show.
Dave and I had a lengthy conversation about the entire college football landscape. We talked coaching carousel, including some detailed discussion about Jason Candle’s move from Toledo to UConn because #MACtion reigns supreme.
Dave and I also talked about some off-field things like the House settlement, revenue sharing and NIL, focusing on the stability of the college game now.
And, if you ever wondered what I did as an SID, we spent a ton of time on that topic. If you, like Dave, ever wondered how ESPN and TheScore and CBS and everyone else get their stats so quickly into the app, we have the answers in this show for you!
