I love any idea that has college football ending on January 1st. By Jan 16 or whenever the championship game was this year, I’ve moved on.

I think it's supposed to be even later this year, which nobody wants. Jan. 1 is the perfect day and time to end the season and what I built this whole idea around

Thanks for the idea on the bowls! You put that out there and it immediately had to be a part of this. Much better than the nonsense I was workshopping earlier!

I wonder if IRL there is a scenario where the computers and committee work together. Idk how they do it for March Madness but 24 teams is a lot to keep track of. Just wonder if there is a good give and take there, like baseball is trying to do with ABS.

Also, isn’t it crazy that IRL if Indiana beats Ohio State during the regular season, they are unquestionably better than the Buckeyes? 1.5 years ago back to the start of college football, the OSU whining statement would have held, but those days are over (for now)!

I know the CFP Selection Committee is starting to use some advanced metrics, like Strength of Schedule and SP+ in their decision making, but I think we can find a middle ground. To me, it's that the computers pick the teams and the CFP seeds them, but there's a lot we could discuss about how that works in practice and if it's the right way to go about it.

And yeah, Indiana's rise has been utterly insane. It's wild to think that a win over Ohio State has the Hoosiers as the Big Ten's best. If you asked me a year and a half ago which program was going to unseat Ohio State or Michigan, I'd go all in on Oregon. Indiana would probably be the last team I'd think
