I think you've handcuffed yourself with the 10 team maxim. I get it, but your new Big 8 additions are yuck. Though I say this as a Colorado fan who knows we'd lose to at least one of them every other year. I'm not willing to put in the work you obviously did, but 10 or 8 as a maxim across the board might be better.
The 10-team limit definitely made it tougher to sort through everything. I agree that the two newcomers to the Big 8 aren't ideal, but I couldn't find any alternatives. I agree that more variance in conference sizes would be a big help to making them all make sense and feel right, but in the larger scheme of my plans, I think the 10-team limit fits it better overall.
Love this! It’s so strange to see the Big East and Pac-10 graphics and think how there was nothing wrong with those conferences in the first place. I’d also welcome that CUSA with Charlotte and JMU every season! For a long time, I was a B1G homer (and I did think it was the most logical fit for Penn State) but I wouldn’t be mad at going independent again. The conferences as they are don’t make any sense anyway. But I’m sure there is a b1g money incentive to being part of the conference (tv, revenue sharing, etc.)
Thanks, Colin! By and large, there are a ton of conferences where nothing was really wrong, but they died for some reason. Maybe simpler times would help?
I know the B1G cash helps Penn State a ton, but later on in the series, I think I might make that pot a bit sweeter for the Independent teams
The “random nonsense we call conferences” are actually fully Independent Multi Million Dollar leagues; focused ONLY on enriching themselves and member schools. Once we understand that everything else is predictable and all “Fixes” fall flat. The actual power is not in the hands of fans. The Sport as a whole be damned; the Conferences dont GAF about any of that. Just their $$, and their playoff bids.
Soon the SEC will mandate only 4 conference games per school in the quest to get 5 undefeated teams in, and 5 more 1 loss schools

Thanks for reading and the comment, Paul!
