I know what you’re saying, another update?! Yes, another update.
Today marks my first day as a contributor to College Football Dawgs, an up-and-coming and rapidly growing college football website. I am joining the team as a national columnist, and am very excited to get started with them!
What is College Football Dawgs?
College Football Dawgs is a new CFB blog that aims to be the first ever fan-focused blog or news outlet in the college football world. They boast a strong writer base, with other contributors having experience with Mike Farrell Sports, Sports Illustrated, the Miami Herald, SB Nation, and more. It’s also the podcast home for the Tim Bailey Show and the College Football Dawg Pawdcast.
The key to this whole thing is transparency. One of their main goals is to bring accessible, easy to understand content to the masses. That’s similar to what I’ve done here with NIL and media deal explainers. We want to create content for everyone, from the first time watcher, to the die hard boosters and staffers, and everyone in between.
Finally, College Football Dawgs has a main tenet similar to SID Sports: to be an unbiased, uncontrolled outlet. Now, that doesn’t mean we’re going to go on unhinged rants. That means it’s not going to be owned or controlled by anyone but us: the fans. This should bring you the most unbiased, easily accessible content around.
How does this affect SID Sports?
In all honesty, it shouldn’t really. The main amount of my work will still be here, shared with you. Some more of my punditry will find its way over to College Football Dawgs.
You’ll still get the same great content here that you’ve always expected. The newsletters aren’t going away. Some are going to be published on College Football Dawgs as well, such as today’s entry about Deion Sanders’s portal strategy.
Right now, I expect to continue to shift into the in-season strategy for SID Sports that I developed this offseason while contributing for College Football Dawgs. One or two of the newsletters a week might get cross posted there, but all of my content will still be here, with you all.
SID Sports is something that we’ve built from the ground up, and having this community isn’t something I’m going to give up. So, rest assured, this news will not impact the operations of SID Sports. Instead, it should give more reach and allow me to play with some of the bigger ideas I’ve had for more of a blog setting.
So, follow College Football Dawgs on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for more content. And, as always, follow me on Twitter, Facebook, Substack Notes, or Threads for all of my content and to interact. I’m always looking to talk college sports, so hit me up if you want to talk!
